(responsibilities in addition to those stated  in the constitution and by-laws and adopted Procedural Guidelines)

  1. Review and update Procedural Guidelines. 
  2. Plan and conduct at least two CEU workshops a  year. Publicize workshops in advance to encourage cross-attendance.
  3. In conjunction with the Business and  Communication Coordinator, coordinate and update master calendar of events and  meetings.
  4. Each September, call members listed on the  non-renewal membership list, as provided from the Business and Communication  Coordinator.
  5. Partner with the Membership Committee and the  other districts to identify new members at the annual conference; secure  seating for new members who are alone at the general session of the conference,  and assure a welcoming atmosphere at social events. Consider methods for  introduction of new members.
  6. Develop,  schedule, and conduct periodic education sessions regarding the legislative  process at district meetings.
  7. Include NJRPA mission statement on appropriate  printed materials.
  8. Assist the Vice President to develop volunteer  responsibilities for district volunteer positions to be incorporated into an  updated District Handbook.
  9. Assist the Vice President to develop promotional materials for volunteer recruitment  to include: duties, commitment, benefits, responsibilities, etc.
  10. Assist the Vice President to include a “Volunteer Recruitment” table in the  exhibit hall at the Annual Conference.
  11. Provide input for development of the annual  budget for operation of districts.
  12. Encourage membership of the District to  be informed and involved in the activities of NJRPA through District, Section,  and Committee activities; continuing education; and publication submissions.
  13. Conduct a minimum of five District  meetings annually, encouraging information exchange from all disciplines in the  membership.  Care should be taken to  avoid conflicts with major NJRPA activities during the months of November and  March.  Districts are encouraged to  provide a variety of continuing education opportunities annually.
  14. Secure one representative of the District  for each NJRPA committee open to participation by the general membership.
  15. Seek candidates to be nominated for the  annual slate of NJRPA officers.  District  Chairs or their designees must attend Nominations Committee meetings.
  16. Organize a promotional effort to assist  the NJRPA Annual Conference Committee to promote attendance by District members  at the Conference.
  17. Encourage NJRPA award nominations of  eligible District members, facilities, and programs.
  18. Assist the Membership Committee with  membership retention, and develop contacts and strategies for membership  recruitment.
  19. Submit written articles and information  of importance about District activities and members for publication in Leisure Times and website
  20. Ensure  ongoing representation on the Board of Trustees.
  21. Encourage local agency and government  officials to participate in District meetings and events
  22. Ensure ongoing leadership within the  District by seeking nominations for upcoming vacancies for District offices and  holding annual elections for same
