Under direction of the Manager, responsible for Senior Center functions including various administrative duties requiring responsibility and dependability, overseeing food bank services and serving as acting manager in manager’s absence.

The New Jersey Recreation and Park Association (NJRPA) is seeking a professional and energetic leader with a strong commitment to excellent customer service and a highly collaborative/teamoriented management style to serve as its next Executive Director. Key duties of the position include management of the Association’s business, financial and technology operations; public policy leadership; development of educational program and services; conference and trade show management; board orientation, development and support; oversight of membership and services marketing; fund-raising and grant development; and support for Committee, Section and District programs and operations. 
The non-profit association serves as the voice for parks and recreation in New Jersey on local, state and national levels. Members work to provide opportunities for all the state’s citizens to enjoy quality recreation and leisure activities, and are dedicated to promoting public support for parks and recreation and public awareness of the contribution of recreation to a balanced life.

There are more than 500 professional, commercial, student, and retired members in NJRPA, affiliated with geographical districts and special interest sections. The staff consists of two additional full time members who help oversee membership services and ticket sales. The association office is in Princeton New Jersey. 

NJRPA is governed by a Board of Trustees (BOT). The seven-member Executive BOT is elected by the general membership. In addition, one representative from each geographic district of the state and one from each special interest group of the association round out the BOT.  The BOT meets monthly; Standing Committees, Districts, and Sections meet on an as needed basis. The association offers an excellent benefits package and minimum starting salary of $75,000 based on qualifications and experience.

Park Maintenance Person – Morris County Park Commission’s Park Maintenance Division seeks a full-time Park Maintenance Person. Under the direction of the Manager of Park Maintenance and the Superintendent of Park Maintenance, this position is responsible for but not limited to, turf management, maintaining athletic areas, maintaining parks, cleaning restrooms, and snow removal.  The Park Maintenance Person’s position is also responsible for the operation of various types of manual and power equipment necessary to perform these functions.  This position is a 40-hour a week position with an alternate schedule in the summer. Environmental Stewardship Coordinator, Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center, Basking Ridge NJ - Coordinate and produce environmental, historical, and cultural events, programs, and exhibits.  Oversee land management of 500 acres of parkland and make recommendations to Manager on environmentally sensitive issues such as invasive plant species removal, meadow management, and habitat restoration.  Qualifications:  Bachelor of Arts or Science degree from an accredited college or institution of higher education in the field of life science, ecology, earth sciences, natural resource management, or other natural history curricula.  Degrees in other fields acceptable provided applicant has experience, training or supplementary education in life sciences.  Minimum of three years’ experience in natural resource management, research and/or field techniques.  Thorough knowledge of environmental and ecological concepts and land management issues; ability to work with the public involving people of all ages; ability to utilize computers; basic knowledge of handling administrative matters in the absence of direct supervision; strong planning, designing, and organizational skills.
