About NRPA

The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) is the leading non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of public parks, recreation and conservation. Their work draws national focus to the far-reaching impact of successes generated at the local level. Leveraging their role in conservationhealth and wellness, and social equity to improve their communities NRPA’s members of park and recreation professionals and citizen advocates are 50,000 strong and represent public spaces in urban communities, rural settings and everything in between.

NRPA brings strength to our message by partnering with like-minded organizations including those in the federal government, nonprofits, and commercial enterprises. Funded through dues, grants, registrations, and charitable contributions, NRPA produces research, education and policy initiatives for our members that ultimately enrich the communities they serve. NRPA is a strong supporter of state side Land and Water Conservation Fund. (LWCF) and introduced legislation to fund urban parks.

NRPA Annual Conference

The 2017 Annual Conference will take place in New Orleans from September 26-28th. 
Conference registration and state room blocks for the annual conference are now available.The deadline to register for a room in the block is end of business on July 20, 2017. It is suggested that you not wait that long as we were only given a small number of rooms. The New Jersey block is located at the Residence Inn by Marriott New Orleans Downtown which is .3 miles from the Convention Center. The room price is $189.00 per night and includes internet, breakfast, and a light dinner M-Th. As was required last year you must have registered for the annual conference in order to book a room in the state block. Please follow the directions below to complete your registrations.
 
STEP ONE: REGISTRATION FOR THE CONFERENCE
Registration will open Monday, May 1 @ 12PM EST. Please visit: http://www.nrpa.org/Conference2017/registration/ and register for the conference. Do not proceed to the hotels from here.
 
STEP TWO: CONFIRMATION
Confirmation of your registration will be sent to you from Wyndham Jade.  You will find your record ID in the second paragraph, first sentence. This ID will be required with your last name to access your hotel.
 
STEP THREE: HOUSING
Go to www.wynjade.com/nrpa17 , once on the housing page you will need to select "State Delegates" and follow the process for reserving your room.  You will need your record ID from your registration confirmation and last name to continue; PLUS your State Login and Password which is: NRPA17Indy and forest.
