Rutgers Youth Sports Research Council

The Rutgers Youth Sports Research Council, a partner with the NJRPA, develops, synthesizes, and disseminates scientific research about the influence of physical activity and organized sports on the healthy development of children and adolescents. Their award-winning educational programs are designed for recreation directors, coaches, parents, and administrators of youth sports leagues.

The Sports Council is proud to announce the development of our 5th Edition of our SAFETY Course. We have worked with professionals distinguished in their fields to upgrade and redesign the course based upon the most current research dealing with youth sports.  Please Visit our Website to get the latest news and updated schedule on future Clinics.

Rutgers Youth Sports Research Council Clinician’s Workshop
The Youth Sports Research Council hosts Clinician's Workshops which trains instructors who teach our SAFETY Courses for volunteer youth sport coaches.  These SAFETY Courses provide information for effectively coaching young athletes AND significant civil immunity (protection from law suits) for those volunteer youth sport coaches who complete the 3 hour SAFETY training.

TRANSITION PERIOD ENDS FOR RUTGERS SAFETY COURSE
Rutgers Youth Sports Council is pleased to announce that the launch of their 5th edition of the Rutgers Coaches SAFETY Course has been overwhelmingly well received and that the transition period during which both the 4th and 5th editions have been recognized will end.  AS OF JULY 31, 2018, THE 4TH EDITION PROGRAM WILL BE TOTALLY DISCONTINUED.  Materials for the 4th edition will no longer be available from the Sports Council and coaches must complete the 5th edition in order to have their names recorded in the Rutgers database as having fulfilled the requirements of the State of New Jersey’s civil immunity legislation.
