This CSPI Blended Learning Course is a combination of the CPSI Online Learning Course, a Virtual Instructor Training Session, and the Computer-based Exam.

Participants registering after August 4, 2025 must pay an additional fee of $35 for the overnight shipping of resource materials.
CPSI Online Learning Course: This 12-hour pre-recorded course provides in-depth analysis of ASTM standards related to playground safety focused on the process of safety inspection from design, through audit and inspection, to maintenance and risk-management practices. Participants must complete the entire Online Learning Course at least 24 hours before the Virtual Instructor Training Session. Study materials will be sent from the NJRPA office to you on July 30, 2025. NRPA will email you a link to the course on around August 13, 2025.
A candidate who has a disability may request special accommodations; the request must be submitted in writing at the time of course or exam registration. In order to properly accommodate all persons with disabilities, requests should be made 45 days prior to the scheduled date for the course and exam.
The Playground Safety Standards and CPSI examination are available in Latin American Spanish for those interested. Please request this option through the course host at the time of registration.
English as second language (ESL) candidates may request a time extension and/or the use of a strict translation dictionary. Request forms/fees must be submitted to NRPA no less than 30 days prior to the exam. The request form is available online at www.nrpa.org/cpsi.
The option to take the CPSI exam via computer-based testing is available through the NRPA. To obtain additional information please visit www.nrpa.org/cpsi. Please be advised if you register to take the examination with the course, you will not receive a refund to take your exam via computer-based testing later. Please decide now if you would like to take the exam on Day 3 of the course or via a computer-based exam later.
Virtual Instructor Training Session: This four-hour training session is scheduled for August 20, 2025, from 8am-12noon. Led by the CPSI course instructor LIVE on Zoom, it provides practical training on how to apply the ASTM standards and the CPSC guidelines to playground environments. NRPA will send you the Zoom link with the Online Learning Course email referenced above.
Computer-based Exam: Participants will be provided with information on how to schedule their exam at a nearby professional testing facility. Exam results are provided on-site at the conclusion of the exam.
International Shipping Costs: Please note that international shipping costs are the responsibility of the registrant. These costs will be added to your registration fee.
Cancellation Policy: No refunds will be made once text resource materials have been shipped. If you do not cancel by August 6, 2025 or do not attend, you are responsible for the full payment.
If it is past the cancellation date, registrants may transfer to a later virtual CPSI Course and Exam. A $135 transfer fee may apply.
