Other duties include athletic field maintenance, playground maintenance, trash collection, snow removal (commitment to be on-call 24/7), ice safety checks, aquatic facility maintenance (filtration/ mechanical/ plumbing/ electric,) and other assigned duties.

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Assistant for the Youth Sports Research Council, within the Department of Kinesiology and Health. This position will assist with the operation and organization of the Rutgers Youth Sports Research Council’s SAFETY Clinic. 

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Provides a wide variety of administrative and support services to customers of the Youth Sports Research Council. 
  • Corresponds and schedules SAFETY clinics.
  • Maintains and enters data into internal and external databases.
  • Assists the Program Coordinator on workshops and events.
  • Packs and ships materials and prepare shipping labels.
  • Develops, updates and maintains the Youth Sports Research Council website. 
  • Collects and records payments from vendors and assists with maintaining up to date financial records. 
  • Grades Clinicians Workshop Exams, enters clinicians in master database and supplies clinicians with materials to teach Rutgers SAFETY Clinic, and records payments for Master Clinicians.


The Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the Ice Arena & the Treetop Adventure ropes course when the primary managers are absent. The position is responsible for assisting with all staffing and operations.

Priorities include but are not limited to assisting with scheduling all ice time, facility upkeep, staff schedules, special event sales, and selling or programming ice. This is currently forecasted as a part-time position. Flexibility to transition from a part-time to full-time position is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  •        Assists with the staffing including scheduling and hiring of seasonal staff.
  •         Hire, supervise, train, evaluate and discipline all related full-time and part-time staff
  •         Prepare and implement related employee work schedules to make sure facility is staffed properly for days & events
  •         Oversees and manages scheduling and sales of all ice time.  Experience with facility scheduling and employee scheduling strongly preferred.
  •         Responsible for operational budget; reviews and approves expenses, employee staffing, etc.
  •         Coordinates the purchasing needs of the arena and treetop, monitoring and tracking usage of all materials, equipment, and supplies
  •         Coordinates the inspections and repairs as required at the Treetop Adventure Course.
  •         Manages banking deposits, invoice payments, closeouts
  •         At least 3-5 years of facility management experience
  •         Strong communication skills, particularly oral communication with customers
  •         Anticipates and effectively handles change; demonstrates willingness to try new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions
  •         Ability to work late evenings and weekends is required
  •         Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License
  •         Required to work during weather emergencies and at heights.
  •      Knowledge of ISI and or USFSA programs and levels preferred
  •      Familiarity with the ACCT Operations Standards and/or ability to pass training as related to the ACCT Operations Standards.
  •       Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Email, Word, etc.
  •      Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director/General Manager

Performs a wide variety of routine clerical and administrative support work for the Department of Parks and Recreation as well as directly assisting the Assistant Director and Recreation Manager with various programs and services provided by the Department of Recreation. Part-time Association Services Coordinator


The Springfield Recreation Department is seeking a part-time year-round Recreation Program Coordinator to join our team. The Youth/Adult portfolio is responsible for planning, promoting, and overseeing a diversified roster of sports clinics and leagues, non-sports extracurricular programs, after school youth drop-in program, school's out and summer camps, bus trips, and other activities. The portfolio also includes coach recruitment, supply ordering and inventory, and program staff supervision. The Recreation Program Coordinator is involved with assisting with special events, community center operations, pool and/or summer camp programming, program registration processing, and office duties. College graduates with recreation-related and/or senior citizen-related degrees preferred, as well as experience working with and planning activities for youth/adult populations. The Ridgewood Department of Parks and Recreation is officially posting the full time position of Tree Maintenance Worker 1, with a starting salary of $49,488.00.

Job responsibilities are similar to those specified for Civil Service Title #04220 Tree Maintenance Worker 1, per the New Jersey Civil Service Commission. Under direction, applicant will assist in the planting, transplanting, cutting of trees and assist in the treatment of diseased trees. In addition, conduct visual surveys listing of forest resources and other related work as required. Applicant must have landscape experience, be ISA certified and possess a Commercial Pesticide Applicators License as well as a CDL Class B driver’s license, or the ability to acquire licensing within 6 months.

Director of Recreation & Senior Services- Pemberton, New Jersey

Seeking full-time Director of Recreation & Senior Services to plan and promote recreational activities, programs and Township events for youth and senior citizens. The Director is responsible for recruitment and supervision of six full-time staff as well as approximately forty part-time and seasonal staff including lifeguards, afterschool program instructors, and group class instructors. The Director is responsible for the management of the budget of the Department of Recreation & Senior Services under the direction of the Business Administrator, including the implementation of internal controls, purchasing, and financial policies of the Township. The Director will manage indoor and outdoor recreational use of public facilities, community and senior buildings and perform project management of the Township’s Parks Improvement Program. The Director will also be responsible for the management of county, state and federal grants for activities within the purview of the department, and for the preparation of grant applications for operations and facilities grants. Computer literacy and substantial writing skills shall be required. Networking experience and skills with community organizations is required. A bachelor’s degree in recreation or sports management or a closely related field is desired. Equivalent educational experience may be substituted for the educational requirement. A minimum of five (5) years in managing and supervising recreation programming and staff is desired. Certification as a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional or as a Recreation Supervisor is preferred. Salary is negotiable within a (2020) range of $70,000 to $95,000 plus generous benefits.
