Current Grants Available

CDC announced available grants for the State Physical Activity and Nutrition (SPAN) Program. Poor nutrition and low levels of physical activity affect overall health and are significant risk factors for obesity and other chronic diseases. This five-year program provides state health departments the support and flexibility to work on systems at the state and local levels to implement evidence-based strategies and to leverage resources from multiple stakeholders and sectors to improve the nutrition and physical activity status of Americans. Click here to apply.

Project Fit America! is a national agency that works at the grassroots level with schools and front line educators to create new opportunities for kids to be active, fit and healthy. They believe in fit kids, one school at a time.   They work with communities to bring in funding, equipment, teacher training, curriculum and the resources schools need to get kids fit and foster a love of movement. Click Here for information.

The National Park Service assists community groups and the public with historic preservation, recreation and improved access to public lands, natural resource conservation, and education and stewardship. Community assistance programs of the National Park Service empower local organizations to advance preservation and conservation work in rural and urban communities. Bicycle and Pedestrian Federal Funding Opportunities, Courtesy of FHWA
Trails projects, pedestrian and bicycle projects (including modifications to comply with accessibility requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990), and Safe Routes to School projects are eligible under multiple Federal funding programs. Although many States focus on the Transportation Alternatives or the Recreational Trails Program, trail and pedestrian and bicycle projects are also eligible under the Surface Transportation Block Grant Program (STBG).
